A creative life is the best life!

Hey there, my name is Meghan, and I am a graphic designer and visual artist with a passion for creating unique patterns, eye-catching designs, and hand lettering.

I embarked on my creative journey by pursuing a degree in Visual Communication and Design from Stevenson University. This educational foundation provided me with a solid understanding of design principles and techniques, allowing me to develop my skills and hone my artistic abilities.

After graduating, I secured a full-time graphic design job in 2013, where I had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects in various industries. In 2016 I decided to teach myself how to hand letter. The first time I decided to use my new hand lettering skills in an actual design project was when I created my shoe design for the Charm City Run t-shirt competition. Since then I have created over 16 designs for Charm City Run!

However, as we all know, the world changed dramatically in 2020 with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, like many others, I found myself facing a job loss.

It was during this challenging time that I discovered a new outlet for my creativity – my first iPad. With this mobile canvas at my fingertips, I began creating unique and captivating designs that truly represented my artistic vision. Inspired by the freedom and limitless possibilities that digital art offered, I made the bold decision to open my own Etsy shop in July 2020.

My Etsy shop quickly gained traction, and it wasn't long before my designs caught the attention of local retailers. In 2021, I had the incredible opportunity to showcase and sell my products in a physical shop. This experience further fueled my passion for bringing my designs to life and connecting with customers on a more personal level.

Now, I am thrilled to share that my work can be found in over 10 small shops, allowing me to reach a wider audience and share my love for design with others. Whether it's through my vibrant stickers, thoughtfully created prints, or custom designs, I strive to bring a touch of creativity and inspiration to everyday life.

Typography is my favorite part of the design process; I believe that fonts make the design. At the letters mdn we believe that making connections through design is the most important part of our business. Everyone has so much in common, and even little things like stickers and keychains can catch our eye, making simple connections through the things we love. We enjoy going beyond and creating something that is very personal, connecting us to you.

When I’m not creating…

A lot of my design ideas come when I am out for a run! I ran competitively in high school and college, Go Mustangs! After college I completed nine half marathons and two full marathons, along with a few 5ks, 10ks, ten milers, and twelve milers. I also enjoy traveling, playing with my double doodles; Luna and Nova, watching old episodes of Gilmore Girls, Friends, and Real Housewives, and listening to Taylor Swift on repeat. In the winter and spring you can catch me coaching indoor track and girls lacrosse at Kenwood High School, and in the fall you can find me coaching girls field hockey at Dulaney High School.
